SIF breaks £6m investment barrier
Announcement of the Largest Ever SIF Investment takes total investments beyond £6m barrier
A major redevelopment programme at the Kibble Education and Care Centre for young people with social, emotional,educational and behavioural difficulties in Paisley is set to go ahead thanks to a cash injection from the £30m Scottish Investment Fund (SIF).
Under the Scottish Government fund - which is managed by Social Investment Scotland - Kibble will receive £1m of grant and loan funding towards the project which includes the construction of new classrooms, a new drama/assembly hall, and a centre for intensive fostering services. The investment marks the largest amount allocated by the SIF since it launched earlier this year.
In addition, the announcement of this investment, along with other pending announcements of further investments from the SIF, means that the total investments now approved by SIF have broken through the £6m barrier and now total just over £6.3m.
Allocation of the Scottish Investment Fund continues at pace and following recent approvals, almost 20 million has been earmarked for investment in a range of organisations across Scotland. more
