An Update from the Investment Panel Chair
As I come to the end of my two year appointment as Chair of the Scottish Investment Fund Panel I am pleased to report that over the last two years the Panel has considered over 55 proposals from a wide range of social enterprises and community based organisations from across Scotland. The Panel has an insight into some amazing, literally life transforming projects and initiatives ranging from arts based projects to community wind farms; employability to community transport; social care to recycling and recently an SPL football club . What is evident is that the social enterprise sector is thriving in Scotland despite the economic challenges.
We are planning to host an event later in the year, bringing together the organisations that have benefitted from a SIF investment. We hope to share stories and inspire other social enterprises to look as this model of funding.
It has been a privilege to Chair the Panel and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow panel members and Alastair Davies at SIS for all their support.
