Scottish Investment Fund appoints Edel Harris Chair of Investment Panel.
Edel Harris has been appointed chair of the Scottish Investment Fund Investment Panel. She joined Cornerstone as Chief Executive in May 2008 having previously been Deputy Chief Executive of Aberdeen Foyer.
Cornerstone is one of Scotland’s largest charitable organisations providing a wide range of health and social care services to people with disabilities and other support needs. With company turnover in excess of £28 million, employing over 1300 people Cornerstone is a sizeable business.
Edel’s background is in health promotion, holding a 1st class honours degree in Health and Social Care she worked for NHS Grampian for many years. Edel has significant experience of developing commercial social enterprises and community health services. She is the author of several publications on Drugs and the Workplace and has presented papers at many conferences on subjects such as Drugs Policy, Learning Disability, Health and Homelessness, Social Enterprise and Fragile X Syndrome.
Edel is currently a Director on the boards of Corners Turned Ltd, Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, the Davie Cooper Centre and the Common Purpose Advisory Committee and a former Trustee of the Fragile X Society. She lives in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire with her husband and she has two grown up sons and enjoys swimming, spending time with her family and is an Aberdeen FC season ticket holder.
